Talking with friends is not always bad. They may have had a friend that talked them into the company they are in. Do they buy leads or buy customers? Most people in a home business opportunity buy leads and provide their new people with training on how to be successful with leads. A good script is at their disposal and their upline is there to back them up with their contacts. New people think there will be more success with leads than there is. Also Leads are very expensive and the variance in cost depends on how new they are and whether they are previously interviewed etc. When success does not come as quickly as one expects, disappointment sets in and can be very discouraging.

When a business has a way for you to buy customers it is a different subject. Customers buy products and the distributor makes a commission. As this progresses, the new distributor notices some increase each month in their commissions and that encourages the distributor. I believe buying customers is the very best way to go and would help you to see that you have a progressive business.
