With all the ads bombarding you, how do you choose one or more
from among the many possibilities. I remember when I first looked for a
residual income home business, and all I got was CONFUSED. Looking back on
my start, I would have benefited from some specific suggestions on how
to get organized and begin my business. Therefore, I will try to put
together for you some of the steps I found to be the most important ones
as I set up and began my business, EnKo Ventures, Inc. I hope you find
they are useful. I am not going to address budgeting in this article.
Starting a residual income home business is never easy. From advertising to
tax laws, there is always something that will require your attention. Here
are some tips that may help you get started in your residual income home business.
1. Set a schedule and stick to it. The attraction of working from
home is powerful — but so is the desire to spend more time with your family
or to take a nap in the middle of the day. Setting and maintaining a
schedule for your workday is critical.
2. Set up a dedicated office area. You can’t run a business from your
kitchen table. A successful business requires a fully equipped home
office. If you have an extra bedroom, consider converting it into office
space. If you do not have an extra room in your home, try setting up a
partition to create an office area. Make sure that there is not a TV in this
area, or make sure you are the one that controls the use of the TV.
3. Be professional. One of the perks of running a business from home
is having the option of working in your whatever, but your customers should
not be able to tell that you just woke up. Always smile when you talk with
your customers. Believe it or not, a smile comes through in your voice.
4. Advertise. Having a business and web site does not insure that
customers will come. To succeed, you will need to advertise your new
business. Advertise in as many ways as you can, for example blog, e-mail,
pay per click, newspaper, radio, and TV. Just having a web site does not
guarantee that customers will see it.
5. Familiarize yourself with the applicable tax laws. You are
about to enter a whole new world of taxation. To avoid ending up frazzled
on April 15th, take the time now to discuss your options with your
accountant or with another qualified professional who can advise you
about your tax situation. Make sure you keep all your receipts and
that you document your personal work hours and mileage.
6. Check with your zoning commission. Make sure there are no
zoning laws that will prevent you from running your business from
your home.
7. Formulate a business plan. Where do you want your residual income home business to
be in six months? How about in five years? Many small business owners make
the mistake of thinking that a business plan is only necessary if they are
going to seek funding or investors. However, businesses of all sizes can use
a business plan as a road map to their dreams.
8. Get on the Web. The Internet is the single best way for a Home
Based Businesses to reach out to prospective customers. You need a Website
that can function as an online brochure for your company. You do not have
to make your web site glitzy, but make sure it adequately represents the
reasons for purchasing your product or service. Quality and service sell.
9. Do your research. You may think that your idea for your Home Based
Business is unique; but unless you do some research, you won’t know whether
or not the market is already saturated with products or services like yours.
While you are researching, look for a special angle for your product or
service, one that will give you an edge over your competitors.
10. Don’t get discouraged. Many businesses fail simply because
their owners became discouraged after a disappointing start. You will need
grit and determination to make your business succeed. Hang in there and
do all that you can to make your business a success. Rome was not built
in a day, and neither are successful businesses.
So if you want to build a “real” business with “real” business people
and would like to find out more about how to develop a Residual Income Home Business
in a way that you probably have never heard of before, then I suggest
you go to the link at the end of this paragraph. The business is based
on the acquisition of customers, not on recruiting distributors,
customers are the mainstay of any business and without them a business
cannot survive for very long. Most of us have struggled to find
something that works and we have all probably come across opportunities
that show promise only to be disappointed after a short period of time.
There is nothing else out there like this business, not that I have
seen anyway.
